On 5 March 2016, Deputy to the National People’s Congress (NPC) Mr. Zheng XiaoHe, along with 30 fellow deputies, submitted a bill to the NPC, “banning dog and cat meat from entering the food industry”. This bill gained 9 million signatures, and was top amongst 426 bills, showing that banning dog meat consumption is the people’s common aspiration.

On 23 May 2016, World Dog Alliance Founder Genlin travelled to Anhui to meet with Deputy to the National People’s Congress Mr. Zheng XiaoHe. World Dog Alliance reached consensus with Mr. Zheng. Together, we will hold the “Regional Legislation Forum” at Mr. Zheng’s hometown Anhui Province in November 2016. Many deputies from the province and related government officials will attend the forum. We hope that Anhui Province can be the first model region for “Regional Legislation” in China.
