On 19th September 2018, Hanoi Government urged citizens to stop eating dog meat because the practice could hurt the city’s reputation.

The capital city of Vietnam aims to ban dog meat consumption by 2021.

World Dog Alliance (WDA) later wrote to the Vice-Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee and Director of Veterinary Bureau to express the deepest gratitude.
